My son loves to help me cook AND he loves to play in the water. I've been putting large towel bibs on him to help keep his clothes clean.I had a thought the other day to make him an apron like mine. Why not? Boys wear aprons when they cook in the kitchen, why not my son? I wanted to add a towel front to help with absorbency just like his bub. No Problem!
Once the apron was made I added a towel panel on the front where most of the mess ends up. I also added another piece of towel on one of the pockets. There are three pockets along his waist for putting spoons and utensils in.
The back simply ties closed.
I used two D rings to make an adjustable neck strap. I should have made the strap a bit longer so it doesn't take me as long to put it on and take it off. It's not a problem now because usually my son is pretty patient. We'll see how it holds up over the next few weeks/months.
This boy is a great little helper!!! Now he has an apron to make him look more official :)

what a nifty idea. My little guy loves to play in the sink and gets so wet.
looks like he will be able to wear that for the next ten or so years heee hee.
